What are the symptoms of Rabies?

❓ Rabies Vaccination FAQ
1. How many doses do I need for rabies vaccination?
Usually three doses for pre-exposure protection. Accelerated course has 4 doses for full protection.
2. How long before travel should I get my rabies vaccine?
Ideally at least one month before travel to allow time for the full course.
3. Can rabies be cured?
Once symptoms start, rabies is almost always fatal — prevention is vital.
4. Is the rabies vaccine safe?
Yes. It is well-tested, safe, and effective.
It can be safely administered to adults and children aged 2 and above.
5. How much is it for the rabies vaccine?
The Rabies vaccine is £74 per a dose.
Standard course is 3 doses (day 0, 7 and 21 or 28) and this costs £222.
Accelerated course includes 4 doses and this costs ( £296)
6. How long does the rabies vaccine last?
Most travellers do not need a booster dose.
A one-off booster dose is recommended if you are travelling to an area where rabies is a risk and it's been more than 1 year since you received the primary course of vaccinations.
If you at risk of rabies through your work, you may need a booster after 1 year, followed by regular boosters every few years.
