Yellow Fever Vaccinations

Yellow Fever Vaccination Near Me

ABC Health Clinic is a NaTHNaC-approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre (YFVC) located in Crawley, West Sussex.

You should have the yellow fever vaccine at least 10 days before you travel.

At ABC Health Clinic, our Pharmacists will carry out a free risk assessment as part of the yellow fever vaccination service.

How long does the Yellow Fever Vaccine Last?

Yellow Fever is a serious infection spread by mosquitoes that can cause fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes) and bleeding.

A single dose of the yellow fever vaccine is sufficient in most people to provide sustained immunity and lifelong protection.

Cost is £74 and includes the yellow fever certificate and vaccine

Yellow Fever Vaccination Side-effects

Mild side effects after the yellow fever vaccine can include mild fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, nausea and/or vomiting, soreness at the injection site. Side effects can persist for up to 14 days after vaccination. Usually they last no longer than 3 days.

Rarely serious  side effects can occur after receiving the yellow fever vaccine. This is more common in people aged 60 and over.

Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate

Some countries require a yellow fever certificate as an entry requirement. Travellers arriving from countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission or even all travellers, may need to show proof of vaccination.

Yellow fever certificates are valid for the life of most people vaccinated.

Travellers who cannot have the yellow fever vaccination, will also have a risk assessment for a medical exemption certificate. The medical exemption certificate is only valid for one trip.

Lost your Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate?

One yellow fever vaccination in a lifetime is all that is required for most travellers. The lifetime validity also applies to certificates written before 2016, which will have a 'valid until' date.

If your certificate is badly damaged, your name has changed or you've lost your certificate, we might be able to issue a replacement International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis or ICVP.

If you have not received your yellow fever vaccination at ABC Health Clinic, you must have the following information to receive a replacement certificate: Date of vaccination, manufacturer and batch number of the vaccine. This information is available from the yellow fever registered centre who administered the vaccine or the yellow fever certificate. Please bring your passport with you.

If you do not have this information, we may need to revaccinate you.

The cost for a replacement certificate is £15.
